Mission

Mission Statement

What is a mission?

The mission of the church, like the mission of any organization, is that which defines what we do because of who we are. We have adopted a mission statement and revised it a few times in recent years. A mission statement should always remind us of where we are headed, of how we are to live as a community. We do not intend it to be fixed, so we call it a "working" mission statement, and expect to continue to revisit it on a regular basis.

We welcome all for Christian worship, fellowship, and service, trusting God to transform our lives and the world.

Parish goals for 2013

We have discerned these goals for the year 2013, to help us pursue our mission:

First goal: Engaging God's Word: Come closer to God by reading, studying and engaging the Bible in community, as individuals and as families.

Second goal: Church Beyond the Walls: We will give and receive the love of Jesus Christ in unfamiliar people and places as we discover new opportunities and experience God's call.

Third Goal: Spiritual Vitality and Growth: We seek to grow our congregation in both spiritual vitality and in number, deepening our sense of belonging in the Body of Christ and sharing ministry within our Church and beyond.
