Dear friend,
Our
celebration of the great mystery of Jesus'
resurrection has begun. In this season of Eastertide
we will continue to celebrate for fifty days. In our
worship each week we will ponder the reality of the
Risen Lord as we recall how Jesus' own friends and
disciples grappled with this new life. How did
his friends understand what was taking place? What
were their questions, their fears, their joys? This week
we will hear the story of Jesus entering a room on the
evening of the day he was raised, saying to the
disciples, "Peace, be with you." Those gathered there
didn't all expereince peace as we might imagine
it.
One of the ways we experience the Risen
Lord is in our weekly Eucharist. This is one of the
ways in which
we grow in understanding of who the Risen Lord is
and how we are a part of his body. Join us this week
as we
gather in celebration. The Lord is risen indeed.
Alleluia.
Jennifer
They met Him again after they had seen Him
killed. And then after they had been formed
into a little society or community, they found
God somehow inside them as well, directing
them, making then able to do things they
could not do before.
