Amos House

Lent 1 the Tween group at Epiphany worked in collaboration with the Parish to collect toiletries and snacks to construct Blessing Bags for the people of Amos House Providence. The Wednesday Date Night kids group blessingbags
assembled 130 Blessing Bags on February 25th, 2015                                    .

The following Saturday the Tweens gathered at Epiphany and car pooled to Amos House Providence where they met Jerome an Amos veteran. Jerome told stories of his life in prison and struggle with drugs and how he prospered with the help of Amos 11025379_10152751753218634_576208798_oHouse and all the services they offer.
Once the doors were opened to the public, many people lined up to eat their hot lunch. The Tweens were also served a tray of fried rice, baked chicken, salad and a cake roll for desert.  11024548_10152751794523634_1467126300_o (1)

After lunch anyone could come pick through the boxes of Blessing Bags brought by the Tweens and take what they needed. After thanking Jerome their hospitality everyone piled back into the cars and headed back to Epiphany for a 11034720_10152751806318634_560277305_oPizza lunch and reflection.

And the crowds asked (John the Baptist), “What then should we do?”  “Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.”
