The Rev'd Jennifer L. Pedrick, Rector

Jennifer has been the rector of this parish since 2002. Prior to that she was Assistant to the Rector at St. Mary's in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She was educated at Harvard Divinity School and Sweetbriar College. As rector, she is the clergy leader of the community, responsible for the spiritual and organizational health of the parish. Her passion for ministry at Epiphany includes creating and identifying opportunities to deepen our discipleship, shepherding the organization with a focus on leadership development, encouraging our church to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those beyond our membership, and welcoming and incorporating new members. Jennifer has oversight and offers leadership and support for our commissions on Worship, Pastoral Care, Stewardship, and Communication. She is the chair of our Vestry.

In addition to her work at Church of the Epiphany, she serves in a number of capacities for the Diocese of Rhode Island. She serves on the Standing Committee and the clergy continuing education committee. She is the Chairperson of the Mission Task Force, and a deputy to the General Convention.

Jennifer is married to Michael DeAngelo and they have two daughters, Lydia and Isabella. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys gardening, cooking and entertaining friends. She is a two-time marathon finisher and in 2008 she walked the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, an ancient Christian pilgrimage across Spain.

The Rev'd Edmund Harris, Assistant to the Rector

We welcomed Edmund as Assistant to the Rector in June of 2010. He grew up in the Episcopal Church, and discerned a call to ordained ministry at a young age. At Epiphany, Edmund will focus his time on nourishing Christian formation, fellowship, and worship.

Prior to ordained ministry, Edmund spent time in communities affected by HIV/AIDS in southern Africa, worked as a chaplain in a youth home in Chicago, helped organize a resource center for at-risk families in Boston, and worked in two parishes. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, the University of Chicago Divinity School, and Berkeley Divinity School.

While not at church, Edmund can be found reading, watching the Golden Girls, listening to sacred choral music, swimming, and cooking for friends. He lives in Providence with his partner, Michael, a PhD student in Ethics at Boston College.

The Rev'd Deacon Ricky Brightman, Deacon

Ricky joined us as Deacon in December 2012, previously having been at St. Luke's church in East Greenwich. She has had a diverse career as an athletic director, computer teacher, librarian, and director of a community service program - lastly at Moses Brown School in Providence. Her deacon's ministry centers around the poor and homeless in the greater Providence area. Ricky is currently is working with others on the Jonathan Daniels House, an Episcopal Service Corps Internship program for young adults that will be setting down roots in the South Providence area in the Fall of 2014. In the summer Ricky and her partner Nancy drop off their two dogs at "camp" in Rehoboth while they drive cross-country to New Mexico and Arizona, sometimes even to the Pacific ocean. Nancy is the University multi-faith Chaplain at Roger Williams University in Bristol.

Nathaniel Taylor, Music Director

Nat oversees a full music program at Epiphany, including an adult choir, a children's choir, and various instrumentalists. He provides organ and piano music in our liturgies, and he works with the rector to choose all music for our services.

Nat is also a medieval historian; when not making music he often teaches and writes on church history and family history. He and his wife Julie live in Barrington with their four children, of whom the youngest, Simon, can sometimes be found scampering around in church.

Beth Dench, Parish Administrator

Beth keeps the parish running smoothly, coordinating our publications, including the Sunday bulletins and our parish newsletter, The Herald. You will find her in the office when it's open, answering the phone and greeting our guests. She is married to Bill, a vestry member, and they have two daughters, Sarah and Emily.

Jim Hibbert, Sexton

Jim works to keep our building and grounds looking beautiful. He prepares our space for the many groups who use our building, and he keeps our building clean. During the day, you may see him out in the yard, mowing or doing other work to keep our outside beautiful.
